Frequently asked questions

What people ask us

01Why the Port de la Bonaigua for stargazing?

Because it is next to Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, a Starlight Tourist Destination certified since 2018, which recognises the quality of its night sky thanks to low light pollution and altitude.

02When is the sky at its best?

On moonless nights or close to the new moon, between spring and autumn, with clear skies. We confirm the forecast before every session.

03Can it be combined with another activity?

Yes. It is already offered as the finale to a day watching the red deer rut, and it pairs well with a daytime outing in Aigüestortes.

04What happens if it is cloudy that night?

If the forecast is not favourable, the session is rescheduled for another night. Observation depends on a clear sky.

05Do I need to bring anything special?

Warm clothing (it gets cold at night, even in summer), and if you have binoculars or a camera with a tripod, feel free to bring them.

06Is it suitable for children?

Yes, it is a calm, static activity. The main thing is that they can cope with the night-time cold and stay up late.
