Booking terms
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This translation is provided for information only. In case of any discrepancy, the Spanish version of this text prevails.
The specific conditions provided before payment (price, calendar, minimum number of participants, cancellation and inclusions) form part of each booking and prevail over this general information.
1. Request and confirmation
An enquiry does not hold a place. A booking is confirmed when it is accepted in writing and the payments or requirements set out in the proposal and in the pre-contractual documentation for the departure have been met.
2. Information before booking
Ecotour Experiences designs, coordinates and presents the experiences published. Before any payment, the traveller will receive, on a durable medium, the pre-contractual information sheet for the departure, with the identity of the parties involved, the party contractually responsible, the guarantees that apply, the services included and the specific conditions. This information is provided individually during the booking process and does not mean publishing our internal network of suppliers.
3. Price and payments
Before booking you will receive the total price as known, the services included and excluded, the payment schedule and, where relevant, information on additional costs. For one-day activities that Ecotour charges, we send you a link to pay a 30% deposit (see "One-day activities"); nothing is ever charged without your authorisation on the payment page.
One-day activities: deposit and cancellation
This section applies to one-day activities that Ecotour runs directly and, for them, prevails over the general trip framework below.
- Deposit: when you request a date we send you a link to pay a 30% deposit of the price, which holds your place. The rest is paid before the activity.
- You cancel 7 days or more in advance: we refund the full deposit, or you change the date at no cost, subject to availability.
- You cancel between 7 days and 48 hours before: the deposit is not refunded, because it covers the place and the guide we have already reserved.
- You cancel less than 48 hours before or do not show up: you lose the deposit. Nothing else is charged.
- If we cancel (minimum group not reached, bad weather or safety reasons): we refund the full deposit or offer a new date, your choice.
- Refunds: made to the same card you paid with, normally within 5 to 10 working days depending on your bank.
- Right of withdrawal: leisure activities on a specific date are excluded from the 14-day right of withdrawal (art. 103 of the consolidated text of the General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users). We tell you before you pay.
The guide may modify or suspend the activity for safety or weather reasons; in that case the rules for when we cancel apply. We recommend taking out accident insurance. Version of these terms: 12 October 2026.
Private activities
On a private departure we reserve a guide exclusively for your group and that place cannot be reassigned, so the deadlines are longer. The deposit is the same 30%.
- You cancel 14 days or more in advance: we refund the full deposit, or you change the date at no cost, subject to availability.
- You cancel between 14 and 7 days before: we refund 50% of the deposit.
- You cancel less than 7 days before or do not show up: the deposit is not refunded. Nothing else is charged.
- Date change: free up to 7 days before, subject to availability.
- We never turn a private departure into a shared one, or charge supplements, without your consent.
Activities run by another operator
Some activities (for example canyoning, paragliding or 4x4 routes) are run by a specialist operator and the service is paid directly to that operator. Ecotour manages your request and tells you who provides the service. Before you pay, we send you that operator's conditions in writing, including changes and cancellations, which apply to their part of the service. If Ecotour charges you an amount for its own handling of an activity, we show it separately before you pay.
Weather, safety and wildlife
- Weather: light rain or cold does not cancel a trip: we go prepared. If the guide judges the weather makes the plan unsafe, we offer another date or an alternative plan and, if you do not accept it, we refund what you paid. If you prefer to cancel because of the forecast, the normal cancellation terms apply.
- Safety: the guide has the final technical say and may change, shorten or stop an activity for safety. If it cannot take place for reasons on our side, we refund what was not provided.
- Wildlife: we watch animals in the wild and cannot guarantee seeing a particular species. Not seeing a deer or a bear does not give a right to a refund, because the experience (guide, searching, listening and tracks) has been provided. If we cannot provide the activity as advertised, the rules for when we cancel apply.
- Minimum group: if it is not reached, we tell you within the notice period stated in the information sheet and you choose between a full refund, another date, or moving to a private departure only if you agree.
4. If you cancel
The cancellation terms of each trip (specific amounts and deadlines) are in its pre-contractual information sheet and we give them to you in writing before you pay. No penalty applies that you did not know about and accept before booking.
We recommend taking out travel or cancellation insurance suited to the activity; on some expedition trips it is compulsory and this is stated in the information sheet.
5. If we cancel or make changes
If a group departure does not reach the minimum number of participants, we will tell you within the notice period stated in the information sheet and you can choose between a full refund of what you paid to Ecotour or a change to another date or equivalent departure. If an activity has to be changed because of weather, safety, force majeure or unavoidable circumstances, we will propose an alternative, a change of date or whatever solution applies under the service booked and the applicable regulations. We do not cover personal expenses you have booked yourself (for example flights) unless the law requires it; this is why we insist on insurance.
6. Safety and duty to inform
Participants must provide truthful information about their experience, physical condition and any circumstances relevant to safety, use the required equipment and follow the guide's instructions. We may prevent or interrupt participation that poses a serious risk to the person or to the group.
7. How trips are published and booked
Not all the programmes on this website are at the same stage. To make this clear:
- Programmes published for information. Some multi-day trips appear on the website to make them known and to gauge interest before they are opened for booking. On these you will see "I want more information" instead of a booking button. Requesting information is not a booking: it does not hold any place, does not create any contract and does not imply any obligation to pay. If you later decide to join, we will let you know when bookings open.
- Package travel organised by Ecotour. A multi-day trip with accommodation and transport may legally qualify as package travel. Ecotour only opens one for booking when its conditions are settled and the guarantee against the organiser's insolvency has been put in place, along with the other requirements that apply. At that point you will receive, on a durable medium and before anything is formalised, the standard information form for package travel, the pre-contractual information sheet and the conditions, with the identity of the organiser and the details of its guarantor.
- Trips organised by a third party. When the trip is organised and contracted by a partner operator at the destination, the booking, the payment and the responsibility as organiser are theirs. Before any booking, the organiser and its contractual regime will be identified to you, and Ecotour acts by putting you in touch and accompanying you, without collecting payment for the trip or appearing as the organiser.
- Guide-only services ("guide_only" treks). What you contract with Ecotour is the professional guiding and accompaniment service. Refuges and other external services are booked and paid for by you directly with each provider; Ecotour tells you exactly what to book, for which dates and how, and checks with you that everything is ready before you set off.
- Day activities. These are booked in the usual way indicated on each page.
The 14-day right of withdrawal does not, as a general rule, apply to accommodation, transport, catering and leisure activities scheduled for a specific date or period.
8. Tourism activity and insurance
Ecotour Experiences designs, coordinates and guides mountain and nature trips and activities, and contracts from local agencies and operators the services at the destination that it does not provide directly. Before the booking is confirmed, the departure documentation is provided, which identifies the organiser responsible for each service and sets out the civil liability insurance cover that applies to the activity.
9. Incidents and complaints
Report any incident as soon as possible so that we can resolve it. You can write to info@ecotourexperiences.com or call +34 644 592 104. We will keep the documentation needed to deal with your request.
