Frequently asked questions

What people ask us

01How is this different from the 4x4000 High Atlas Challenge?

It adds the Imenane Valley villages and a night in Tacheddirt. Toubkal and West Toubkal are targeted on the first summit day, Ras and Timesguida on the next. Imouzzer is optional.

02Are four or five summits guaranteed?

No. All summits depend on weather, terrain, time and group fitness. Imouzzer is optional, and the local guide may change or cancel any attempt.

03Do I need mountaineering experience?

Yes. This is a demanding high-altitude mountain route on rocky ground above 4,000 m, not a moderate hike. Imouzzer can involve exposure or scrambling; snow and ice may require technical skills and equipment.

04How does payment work?

The local organiser contracts and charges for the trip directly. Ecotour advises and introduces travellers without taking or confirming package bookings.

05What insurance do I need?

Cover for medical care, mountain activity above 4,000 m and rescue. Check altitude limits and exclusions. Cancellation cover is recommended.

06Who guides the trip, and what does Ecotour do?

Local guides lead and make safety decisions. Ecotour helps with preparation and remains a backup contact; no Ecotour guide travels with the group.
